My Grandfather cannot be found

You'd think I could find my grandfather, John Parrott from Michigan!
My father's birth registration states that his parents were John Parrott and Alice Carragher married in Mount Clemens, Michigan on April 18, 1915. However, evidence of this marriage has not been found.
